I see the benefits and I can also envision the students as well as myself, reaping the rewards.
On Thursday, I had to present my very own flip chart I created. On each page, I incorporated the various techniques I learned to engage and wow my students. The presentation went off without any glitches.
This training has been most rewarding. Now, I feel somewhat like a "Computer Geek."tplikelyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03171656670497510728noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3449045419294398502.post-2283051027037050362008-06-26T06:13:00.000-07:002008-06-26T06:28:40.634-07:00Active Studio TrainingI just learned about the Activote. It is a fun and interactive way to enhance, assess and manage students' progress. I got a chance to be the student in the classroom and take a test by way of registering my answer choice on the big screen. The instructor is then able to view answers and collective data as a whole or individually, item by item. Students' answers are anonymous. Choices are made through a hand held, numbered control, pretty much like a remote control. I can thoroughly see how this form of evaluation is and can be most helpful to the students, teacher, and the district.
Data is made available through, spread sheets, charts, and graphs, as well as individual reports. This form of data collection lends itself to fun and adventure. I rank it up there with the Wii.tplikelyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03171656670497510728noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3449045419294398502.post-3928903085469717112008-06-25T12:39:00.000-07:002008-06-25T12:57:33.942-07:00Active Studio TrainingToday is my third day of Active Studio Training. I must say I am becoming a new convert. When I first got the news that I would be getting an Active Board, I was not a happy camper. When it arrived, I felt overwhelmed and heavy just like that huge, white, monstrosity that blocked my view. My Principal looked for my excitement, and often came in to see if I was using it with the children. I would repeatedly say, "Not yet."
Under the leadership of Mrs. Rachael Mercer, I now feel somewhat confident and I can now see the awesome and wonderful possibilities this form of technology can lend itself to the enhancement of student achievement.
I am learning to create flip charts, import various media into my flip charts, and to create interactive lessons that will keep my students engaged.tplikelyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03171656670497510728noreply@blogger.com0
